- Ski activity is not showing speed or distance. Last winter it did. All I get is vertical decent.
It took me a while to check this all out. I have the GPS set to work on all the apps I use. One was initially set to GPS, I also tried GPS+Galileo and GPS+Glasnos. When I start the app, it get the usual 'Waiting for GPS" message which then goes green indicating I am ready. I tried walking, ski, XCountry Ski, and Snoboard. None of them gave me actual GPS distance and speed. I got that in the Walking app, but I think it was based on steps since the map of my walk doesn't show up like it used to. Do you have any suggestions other than to replace the watch?
While recording an activity on the watch, do you see distance and speed/pace?
Last thing you could try is a factory reset and contacting Garmin support.
Thanks. I finally contacted Gamin and did some stuff and now it works.
they had me install Garmin Express and connect to my PC instead of the phone through Bluetooth. They said adding a new device on Express would reset things. I also did a restart, but I had done that before without effect. So probably the Garmin Express connection was what it took.
