Garmin Connect interfere with car Bluetooth connection

All of a sudden my phone kept disconnecting from my car's system, it's just connects and immediately disconnects. After hours of research I found out that it is because of Garmin Connect... Uninstalled and reinstalled didn't help, same goes for unpairing all devices, clearing cache etc. Simply looks like a bug with Garmin Connect.

If I disable the "nearby devices" permission for Garmin Connect all is good, so it's not the entire app just its Bluetooth functionality that causing the issue...

Any ideas? Did someone experienced this as well?

Google Pixel 4a5g and Fenix 5X plus.

Thx!

  • Yes! I was researching Bluetooth disconnecting on my car brand website because it never occurred to me that it would be  My watch period now, when I want to make a call in my car, I turn my Bluetooth off in my watch settings so it won't disconnect the Bluetooth and ruin phone calls.

  • Any success in fixing this. Have the same issue with my fenix 6

  • I have the same issue with my Garmin Venu 3.  any solution to this? I don't want to have to disconnect my watch from bluetooth just to make or take a phone call in the car !

  • What phone do you have? my issues has resolved but i had a s21 moved to an s23 ultra. deleted app from phone prior to switching phones over and my issues have gone away. i had 2 different s21's and it did it on both for what ever reason. this was my solution. i know the bluetooths are different between the 21 and 23 phones.

  • so today I figured out how to turn off the watch's audio and this seems to have resolved the bluetooth taking over my car phone calls. fingers crossed let's see if it continues to work! only downside is you can't use the watch to make or receive calls but i don't use that feature anyway

  • I've been having the same problem (Venu 3s, Subaru Legacy 2017, Google Pixel Pro 6 Android). Thanks for the suggestion. I'm going to try turning my watch's audio off as well. I also do not use the phone's audio to make or receive calls. Will report back on success of this solution.  Thank you for the suggestion!

  • Same problem with Venu3, Galaxy a52 5G and Nissan Qashqai. If i want to use my car system i have to disconnect my watch before start to make a call. I'm not happy. If i bought a watch with this feature, i would to like to use it ever.
