Need to restart the app every morning to get notifications and syncing

Hi all,

recently, for about 1 month, I have to restart the app every morning to get notifications and syncing. Forerunner 955 and Android 8, happens probably after sending the sleepdata, because there is some failed destination being send to upload service to garmin.

anyone here to help?

THX

Petr

  • The Sync Audit refers to the FIT file type # 35. You have to open the XML file GarminDevice.xml in the //GARMIN/folder and look up the ID there. I do not have it on my Instinct 2 at all, and for example on an XML file from a Foreruner that I found online, the FIT_TYPE_35 is a file holding the Segments list. Perhaps it is the same on your watch too.

    <Name>FIT_TYPE_35</Name>
    <File>
    	<Specification>
    		<Identifier>FIT</Identifier>
    	</Specification>
    	<Location>
    		<Path>GARMIN/SEG_LIST</Path>
    		<FileExtension>FIT</FileExtension>
    	</Location>
    	<TransferDirection>OutputFromUnit</TransferDirection>
    </File>

    You can try localizing the file and deleting it (after backing it up). However, I am not sure it is really the reason of the failed BT connectivity. There is no error, just a note the file was skipped since it was empty, so it does not look like it is blocking anything.

    More likely might be the Battery Saver enabled during sleep, or battery optimizing options, or background settings for apps on the phone. For some tips, have a look at the Sync / Connection Troubleshooting Guide
