Overall average heart rate for multisport activity

  1. Is it possible to view the overall average heart rate for a multisport activity on the Connect app? I am using the Enduro.
  • No, you need to view the individual legs for that. Garmin Connect Web shows the overall HR graph, though no average either.

  • I was wondering the same thing. I wish they could have it on the highest level of the multisport nesting.  Also, this is causing some issue for other services to grab this data from its API.

I can see that on my watch, but annoyingly, the Avg. HR is covered up by the round secondary display of the Instinct 2.

If it can be displayed on the watch, it must have been in the calculation already, just a matter of displaying it on the Connect Web / App / API output. Really hope they could have it on the upper most layer

  • Well, it is not available on the app, but you get the overall HR graph on Garmin Connect Web. Just the graph though, not the avg value. I recommend suggesting it to Garmin at Share Ideas | Garmin

Just curious which services you mean. I did not see any yet, supporting multisports. They usually import the legs individually, and hence the overall average does not matter at all.

  • Ya, the service I am referring to is Vitality. It treated them as multiple legs of sports via the API, which is annoying. Coz I need to prove that it was a single stretch of workout for them to reward me the points.

Yes, but that's a problem of Vitality, not a Garmin's problem. Having an overall average HR at the multisport activity would not change anything, Vitality would still import it as single legs anyway. If you need the workout as a single activity, record it so and do not use multisport.

  • I get that, but at least it will be easier for me to prove that is a single workout with "X" average HR.

Also, with that displaying out, it is easier for me to make a case (either to Garmin or Vitality) to account for future API development.

  • If you need the evidence the legs are part of a single activity, use the overall graphs from Garmin Connect Web.

  • Well, if I am unlucky, the agent may ask about the average heart rate for the “overall”, to qualify for the points. That info is on the watch, but covered up by the round display Face palm‍♂️

  • You can scroll down and up that screen
