Fenix 6 Pro constantly disappears from Garmin Connect :-(

Just been through the group but could not see a thread...

I have a Fenix 6 Pro .. Fully updated. Software version 22.10

A Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G

I add it via Garmin connect.. Bluetooth. Sync completes.. all good. Device is there and syncing.

I come back an hour later and it's disappeared . No device registered with the app.

I've re-registered it more times than I care to remember, uninstalled the app, re-installed .

I can't find a solution to this which must be a bug ?

Currently fallen back to a USB Cable to my laptop..  :-(

Would anyone have any ideas ?

Many thanks.

  • PS I've looked through device sync log on the phone  and one minute it's there syncing.. Then the final page, nothing to sync.. no device listed ..

  • I have the same problem with my Venu 2. It was working perfectly for months, now exactly the same symptoms. I've tried restarting both devices, removing the device from Connect and starting over, but with no success

  • The same issue with fenix 6 saphire. After I change mobile phone to samsung A32 I am adding my garmin every day.

  • I raised a ticket with the Garmin, which they took away to investigate after some initial troubleshooting.  They asked me to provide a video of the issue happening, which is a challenging ask, as it was happening at different intervals.  Sometimes it would disappear after an hour, sometimes it took a couple of days.  I gave up in the end because I couldn't fathom how to video it, and they were persistent that it was necessary.  I recently changed my mobile device and it's been much better, however it has happened once.  Hoping a software update will address the underlying at some point in the near future.

  • I am having a similar issue. Galaxy s23 with Garmin Fenix 6. Watch is frequently removed from Connect app.

  • After suffering with this issue for weeks, and making frustratingly little progress with the first level Garmin support team (lots of form filling, screen shots, attempts to upgrade to beta OS etc) the 2nd level support team provided a very simple fix that worked first time.  Since then, the issue only repeats once every 4/5 weeks, which is much more manageable, and the same fix works every time.

    Follow these simple steps:

    1. Deactivate bluetooth on the Garmin device and switch off
    2. Deactivate bluetooth on the modile device and switch off
    3. Switch Garmin device back on and reactivate bluetooth
    4. Switch mobile device back on and reactivate bluteeoth
    5. Now pair the Garmin device to the mobile device via the standard Connect app process

No idea why they don't publish this in the FAQs as a first step to fixing the problem.

    Hope this helps someone else.

  • Thanks for the help. Appreciate it

  • Have you found any permanent solution? Having the exact same issue and using this solution but it o ly lasts about 5 days. Problem o ly started when I got a new phone (pixel 7a). So annoying

  • Problem o ly started when I got a new phone (pixel 7a).

There are some tips specifically for Pixel owners, in the Sync / Connection Troubleshooting Guide. I cannot guarantee it helps, but may be worth of trying. Check specifically hints #6, #26, and #27, though some of the other tips may be of interest too.

  • Sorry - this was a permanent solution for me, and I've had very few recurrences since.  I have a Pixel 6A.

Hope you manage to resolve the issue.  I remember how frustrating it was at the time.
