How do I manually set the time zone on my edge device?

My device has been approximately 14 hours out for months now.   Syncing to the sattelittes has not fix this issue.  Numerous factory resets and formats have not fixed this.   How the F__k do I get the time right on my device?

Also,  garmin express won't load now that my pc is on Windows 11 so I can't even use that app for checking anything.

Additional info:

No problems getting gps and/or glonas connection.

Phone is properly Bluetooth Ed to my phone.

Phone has correct time.

This garmin device is complete rubbish and will be my last garmin device.

  • Which Edge device do you have?

The solution seems to be to use Garmin Express to get a timezone file.

I'm running Windows 11 and Garmin Express works as it should. Have you reinstalled the application? What error do you get?

  • Hi,  using an edge 820.  This device has required a lot of TLC to keep running.  Bad battery life (3.5 hours max on battery saving mode.  2.5 Max on normal mode).  I did a full reset a few months back to see if this would improve things,  which it did somewhat,  but now it simply won't sync the right time zone, no matter what I do.

In terms of garmin express,  when I try to run that application,  the small garmin splash-screen appears but will not load past that point.  I have left it for litterally hours to see if it just needed time but it still wouldn't move past the splash screen.   Have uninstalled and reinstalled around 4-5 time with the same result.   Have tried turning off AV and still nothing. If I hover my cursor over the splash-screen,  the cursor appears in the "busy"  state as though something is happening but,  sadly,  nothing.

To be honest,  I think I'm done with garmin.   I have exclusively used edge devices for at least 12 years now and I'm now ready to jump ship to Wahoo or Hammerhead.   My last edge (500) gave me a lot of grief connecting to satellites,  which is why I "upgraded" to this defective unit.  Given the cost of garmin units,  I don't think I'll roll the dice on another garmin unit.

If I can just get the time zone right, that'd be great.  If not,  it's Wahoo time!

    Cheers,

    Vincent.
