I need a smart watch to track both swimming and hiking. Which model would be suitable

I am looking for a Garmin smart watch to track my indoor pool swimming and weekly hikes (17km-20km). I have bought the Swim2 on the recommendation of the retailer, but now find that it doesn't appear to cover hiking (I suppose I should have guessed that, with it being called the Swim 2!). Can anyone advise me which model, in the same price bracket, that I should purchase.

  • in the same price bracket

That makes it difficult. The closest I found in the current lineup is the Instinct 2. Still $100 more (USD).

Also, try this page and check "Swimming" and "Hiking" under the "Shop By Activity" section Fitness Watches | Sport Watches | Smartwatches | Garmin

  • You can record hiking as Walking, and change it subsequently in Garmin Connect to Hiking if really necessary for some reason.

Otherwise, you can find Instinct, supporting both Swimming and Hiking, for half of the price of Swim 2. Especially the Esports edition is often sold for aggressively discounted price, often under 130€. I would not hesitate twice getting it - it is a full-featured Instinct, with some additional functionality for gamers, but it has all the functionality of the standard Instinct (1st generation). Excellent watch for that price.
