My Forerunner 45 and Connnect did not update my intensity minutes after a 30 minute bike ride

My Forerunner 45 and Connnect did not update my intensity minutes after a 30 minute bike ride today, wearing an external heart band.  The ride has been transferred to the APP, with reasonable history of heart rate, speed, location, etc.   Adding the HR data up in my head gives about 45 intensity minutes.   I shut down the app and the watch in case that would recover the missing intensity minutes.
I guess that the watch has had an update in the last 48h, since "treadmill" is a new activity type in the list where "bike ride" was before.
What's up?  Anyone else having trouble?

  • Could you post a screenshot of the HR daily data graph, and of the activity HR graph?

  • The intensity minutes have worked fine.  My speculation is that something got lost in the update and it has reinitialized after a little time and a restart.

The day I had trouble I got up, picked up my watch, saw it had zero battery and put it on the charger.  Once it was charged I immediately set out on my bike ride.  Intensity minutes seem to be a black box about the reference for moderate and intense exercise, so maybe it had nothing to base intensity on?

In the default configuration, you get Intensity Minutes for the time when your HR is roughly 150% of your avg Resting HR. So if you did not wear the watch during a long time (especially during rest and sleep), the Resting HR might have been quite high. This is why I asked about the screnshot of the HR - it would reveal whether you deserved any IM or not.
