Maintenance log for equipment

Hi Garmin

It would be great to have an equipment log in garmin connect.

The feature would protocol all maintenance on equipment like changing tires, servicing a suspension fork or fixing things.

With this feature i could have all in one app.

Thank you to take it into your backlog.

Kind regards

  • There is already such feature. There is room for improvements, but it works for this purpose. Have a look at the menu Gear (more comfortable managed through GC Web). You can add multiple parts, and track them individually:

  • Hi trux

Thank you for the hint. I guess it would not help, because the gear cannot be linked together (ex. linking new wheels with a pre-existing bike). But this is necessary that activities must not be assigned to each gear but to the "main" gear and will be inherited to active "sub-"gear.

A simple text field qould be a good start, do create such a log...

    Happy Garmining

  • because the gear cannot be linked together

I do use it in this way. A single activity may have multiple gears assigned, so I have the principal bike, and then several components assigned to the Cycling activity automatically. I redefine the automated assignment when I change some part, or when I change the location and/or the bike configuration. As I wrote, there is room for improvements, but principally nothing prevents you from using it for the parts tracking, already as it is. I do.

  • Thank you trux for the detailled how to.

    I'll give it a try.

    Kind regards

  • Just please note that the additional gear must be of the type Other. Automatically, you can assign only a single gear of the type Bike, but multiple gears of the type Other can be assigned automatically without problems. At the manual assignment, there are no limitations.
