Is there a way to show only a subset of my contacts in the GPS phone book?

I have my BMW Navigator V connected to my Android phone and to my helmet Bluetooth headset. When I open the phone book on the GPS it shows me all of my contacts, and there are lots of them. I'd like to have a way to select a subset of my contacts to show in the phone book. Maybe with a custom category or label on the contacts? Thanks.
