Activities deleted on device still appear in Garmin Connect

I have Venu 2s paired with Garmin Connect (Android). When creating some test activities on the device to test synchronization, I noticed that when activities are deleted on the device they still appear in Garmin Connect. Is this expected behaviour? Is this to allow users to reduce activities on the device but still have a complete view on the Connect app?

Yes. That is the expected behaviour. Deletes of activities on the device do not affect Garmin Connect. Same with courses and workouts.

When creating an activity in the Connect app it syncs with the device but when deleting it from the device it still appears in the Connect....
