HR timeline in GC inaccurate

In Garmin Connect, my HR timelime only shows data from my 945 - specifically the wrist monitor. This is fine, but I often record cycling using my Edge 530 and a chest strap, or my 945 and a chest strap. The activity data is fine, but the timelime only seems to show the data from the wrist monitor.

For example, I did 45 mins cycling today, at an average HR of 148bpm. My timeline shows my max HR as 108bpm though.

This has started happening this week. Can anyone help?

  • Will Garmin Connect prioritise wrist HR data in the timeline if it is avaliable, even if an activity has been done with a strap and another device?

  • Will Garmin Connect prioritise wrist HR data in the timeline if it is avaliable, even if an activity has been done with a strap and another device?

Yes, this is described in the FAQ:

How Does Heart Rate Data Display in Garmin Connect?

Why Is There a Gap in My All Day Graph?
The all day graph of your heart rate will only display heart rate data from an activity tracking device. So for example if you decide to wear a heart rate strap to record your heart rate during an activity or if you remove your Forerunner and record a ride on an Edge with an HRM strap on, heart rate data will not appear on the graph for the time period the activity was recorded during.

  • Thanks - so if I record an activity with a strap on my 945, it will show, but it won't if I record it with my Edge and a strap?

Would be good if Garmin eventually integrates this, so your timeline shows the full picture

  • Your HRM strap would have to be set as the preferred activity tracker, and be connected to Garmin Connect Mobile by Bluetooth
