Active calories burned

Anyone having issues with Active calories burned?

My forerunner only seems to track my exercise activity but not my daily calorie burn for steps ect. I bought this watch so I can track my BMR, and it’s not doing a great job so far in this area. Yesterday for example I burned around 500cal, this was down to a run. Must have done another 10k steps but nothing recorded.

  • BMR Calories are not Active Calories, they are the Calories you burn at rest, and Garmin does track them. Better told Garmin tracks the Resting Calories (RMR) - those are slightly higher than BMR.

For having the RMR properly tracked, you have to enter your body data into the user profile - the age, gender, eight, weight, and the correct Activity Class.

For tracking the Active Calories (also out of timed activities), you have to wear the watch, and have the HRM active, so that it can measure your heart rate.
