Garmin Coach (Amy) - problems after changing target time

Good morning

I'm worried there isn't a solution to this problem, but just in case...

Last week as part of Coach Amy's Half Marathon plan (week 12/19) I received a standard message about changing target finish times. As the confidence level had been at the max for a couple of weeks I reduced my target by 2 mins. It really messed up my workouts, so I changed it back. Now, when I look at my schedule it appears to have set my training back 5 weeks - my workouts for this week are identical to the ones I did in week 7. Surely this can't be right?  I'm now concerned that I'll regress over the next few weeks before the race.

Anyone had this problem, and know if there is a solution?

Thanks.

  • Just done exactly the same to me, changed goal times last week with no issues but done again today and it’s sent me back to week 1!.

  • Thanks for your reply, Rich.

What week were you on? I'm reluctant to suggest you make any further changes, but my plan did seem to reset to week 1, and I repeatedly changed my goal time or number of days training until eventually the workouts matched week 6. I'm now getting 'tips' that I've already had. I've kept going with the plan, but on my long runs I'm building up from where I was in week 12 rather than 6. I'm still a bit concerned that the workouts I'm doing are planning for a race that's further away than in reality.

  • End of week five for me, I’ll keep trying but so far I’ve got four short easy runs next week when I should have sprints and goal pace runs. I can’t find any reference to a fix anywhere unfortunately.

  • Same here, I was playing around with the target time to see what their Confidence meter would do. It changed the workout schedule back to easy runs only, even after going back to the original time goal. Very frustrating

  • Hi,

I just done the same on week 6 of 15. Changed goal time and then my calendar changed from strides and a 90min to just easy 30 and 60 run. Managed to play with goal setting and number of workouts per week for 20mins and it has went back to the normal. Got lucky.

  • This is actually worked, thank you Griff.
