Why are all my 30 minute 1.1 km swims unproductive according to Garmin on my forerunner 245?

A continuous At continue 30 minutes when for 1.1 km in a pool it's definitely not unproductive. Why is garman showing it as unproductive. Is it to sell its costlier swim watches?

  • I have no experience with training status for swimming activities, but "unproductive" generally means that despite your inreased effort your performance does not improve.

  • The training status is not for a single swim (even though they got some affect but not as much as you would think). It is the current status for a longer time of training. The swims you do now will affect the training status in the close future.

"Unproductive – Your training load is at a good level, but your fitness is decreasing. Your body may be struggling to recover, so pay close attention to your overall health, including stress, nutrition and rest."

Your VO2 max is decreasing but your load is good.
