Auto LiveTrack disabled, still goes on every time

Hello Everyone,

It is a Samsung Android phone and a FR 245 Music.

Months ago, I set up LiveTrack, it works nicely. HOWEVER... Once I turned on Auto Start of LiveTrack (toggle switch in the Android app). Then, some days later, I decided to tturn it off and have LiveTrack started manually when I want to. (Android app menu: Safety and Tracking: LiveTrack page)

The switch is off, but still, as soon as I start an activity (running or walking), "LiveTrack started" appears on my watch.

I'm unable to turn off this auto start. Am I missing something?

It is funny that most people have problems enabling auto start of LT, while I cannot disable it!

I had the same issue and it was driving me nuts.

Within Garmin Connect I found "Settings > Profile & Privacy > Data > LiveTrack". Click "Opt out", then sync your device. This disables LiveTrack completely…

No. Do not do that. I mean the automatic one. Just turn on LiveTrack manually whenever you need it, that works perfectly.

I have this same issue on EpixGen2 w/latest firmware as of this posting, after setting up LiveTrack once on a 6 mile swim I wanted family to be able to track, now EVERY activity I start, the SMS goes out to all of them, no matter that it is turned off in android app. Appreciated this opt out instruction, so no sms going out, but now watch still shoes live track failed at every activity start. Maddening.

No. Garmin was unable to help, as they could not reproduce the phenomenon.

Just hard reset, set up everything again, and avoid Auto LiveTrack.

Before hard resetting, I made a video of scrolling thru every settings of my watch. Datafields' settings, watch settings, watchface settings, etc. That is a lot.
