Change weather source to own weather station?

I am planning to install a weather station in our garden. Any chance I could feed the data from it to Garmin Connect, eventually to my Instinct watch?

Haven't bought any hardware yet, if I find an ANT+ compatible weather station, I'll stick to that.

  • You can't use ANT+ so send weather data to your watch. It works if you are in an activity and let weather station act as a sensor, but that will not be such a good use case unless you only train close to the weather station and then it is better to just look at the interface for the station.

The weather station need to publish the data on the internet and then you will have an app, widget or watchface fetch that data. Instinct doesn't have ConnectIQ support so you can't install anything on the watch to fetch weather data.

  • You're right/I was afraid so. I have no problem using the stock widget but it needs to be convinced (trough Connect) to accept a user defined input.

Same goes for tides btw (I have the surf edition, and the tides are often wrong by more than 30minutes).
