Sleep Tracking on Forerunner 945

I am looking for a way to delete incorrectly added sleep tracking items.

Garmin sleeps tracking manual entries do not coordinate properly with Garmin.

It would only make sense that if users can manually enter the information they should be able to edit it to appear on the right day and choose to replace/move Garmin's information if it is entered on the wrong day etc.

I see there are numerous complaints about the sleep tracking feature.

There is some useful health information I look at with this app and it feels like a tease that it only 'kinda' works.

I love all the Garmin products I have owned, but I feel the company is falling short of not addressing issues that go on for years. Garmin, are you planning on addressing these issues?

Thanks,

Bon

  • You can edit the sleeping start and end time for every day both in the app and in the web. Go to the sleep page, click the 3 dots in top right corner and Edit.

  • Hi e7andy,

I have done this and it has then entered a general sleep log for those hours. The problem lies in that i had my watch on the night it night it didn't record my data, so I did a basic entry of how long I slept for. Garmin a day later updated my sleep stats with that night's sleep but logged it on the next night, not the actual night. So my data is now messed up on certain nights and I can't delete my manual entry and edit the Garmin entries to display on the correct nights.

Does that make sense? I can enter sleep data but I can't delete anything, or change the dates on any of those entries.

    Thanks.

  • Odd behavior. You can't move sleep but you can edit each day. So you will have to edit each day that is wrong.

I would try the usual things. Connect to Garmin Express. Sync and update with any software it might find. Do a full restart by holding the light button until it shuts down.

Make sure you got the correct timezone setting.

  • Thanks for that info. I will double-check those items. I am unable to manually edit information on light sleep, rem sleep, etc, or at least have not yet found it with any web searches or experiments. So it might just be it is the way it is. Maybe the magic reset will fix a few things!

    Kindly,
    Bon
