Garmin S60 Approach will not sync and keep connected with Garmin Connect using Samsung S20 FE 5G

Hi.

I'm about to give upp my S60 Approach.

My problem is that when I download Connect and after many attempt to connnect, it will conect some how. But after a day or two it looses contact with my phone again and the only solution is to try to reinstall it, but same thing will happen after a few days. I'have read and done every trick from this "Sync / Connection Troubleshooting Guide" but nothing seams to help. The last thing I did was to reset nettwork settings and reinstall everything, but this doesen't help ether. During that time wifi was turned off all the time so it's not that ether. The wierd part is that the Garmin Golf app shows a green circle as if they are connected, and the whatch is visible in the bluetooth settings, but Connect wil not sync at all. For every reinstall, I have deleted the watch from the phones bluetooth settings also. I'm now running out of ideas, and if it hadden been for the Golf part of the watch, I would probably thrown the watch as far away it could get, to get it out of my frustration.

Other functions such as Phone calls, messenges, mail ++ worked some times on the watch when connected, but not allways.

I will also add that I resently did a uppgrade on the software on the watch from Gramin express to remove the problem, and the Garmin Connect app is the most resent download. (The problem was present before I did the latest uppgrade to) (And I can add thet the Bluetooth connection between my car and phone never fails)

Any ideas?

  • I'have read and done every trick

  • I give up!!

I have come to an conclusion. Yeasterday I did some more effort to reconnect my watch, and I had to reinstall Connect App to succseed. This morning the watch would not re-connect again even though they had been witin 6 meters all night since last successfull connection.

    Who's to blame!!

After a small examination of my devices, I conclude on this:

My S60 does connect with the Connect App when new installation is done, but looses contact after a day or two. When I try to sync the devices I can see that the green dot on the endge of the moving circle that are supposed to show that they are connected, is not there. So this tells me that the Connect App has no contact with my watch any more. The strange thing is ... when i go into the settings in my Samsung S20 FE 5G's  bluetooth settings, the phone shows that it is connected to the watch. And even more strange, if I open the Garmin Golf app, it also successfully connects to my S60 watch!

So my conclution is that my phone and watch is connected, so there is no problem with ether devices, the only App that dosent work as it should is the Connect App. Therefore I blame the Connect App not to support a revativly currant Android phone like the S20 FE 5G. Happily I have a iPad that has none of these issues so I can still use training and golf features, but I'll not be abel to use all the functions available and announced like phone calls, sms, and other alerts from my phone that sholud be shown on my watch as I dont carry my iPad everywhere.

I really hope that this will be fixed, but I'll probably never know because I'll never try to reconnect the watch to my resent phone again. It has ruind my mood every time it faild!!

  • Update: Not longer conected to the Garmin Golf App ether.

  • Sorry, no solution for you. I'm in the same boat. Really, really hacked off. Watch and phone app have been working well for months. Last few weeks I have had problems every round. Followed all Garmin advice, no progress. Feels like Garmin are neglecting their existing customer base!

  • Same problem here. Samsung Galaxy Note 10 lite and Vivoactive 4s. Watch and the app were not synchronizing for few days. After the suggestion from the Garmin support, I reinstalled the app and now the watch does not connect to the app at all. Other steps they suggested, did not help at all. There is nothing wrong with my phone because I can connect any other device via Bluetooth. Phone settings are also correct. Garmin support, well...it's been few days now and still haven't heard from them.
