Why can't I join the step challenge with my Forerunner?

When I try to join the step challenge it says I need an activity tracker, why isn't my Forerunner compatible?

It should work, then. Is your device registered with Garmin Connect? Perhaps you have activity tracking turned off?

Does your watch support WALK apps. Sone don't.

Step challenges do not require to start a walk activity. Any garmin device with a step counter should be good for the challenge.
