Which watch do you have? Try restarting the watch then syncing with Garmin Express. If that doesn't help, and the sync appears to be working (circle around the watch symbol closes and turns green) then make sure you aren't using multiple Garmin accounts - Data is Missing from My Garmin Account After Syncing.
