Assistance not sending alert to emergency contact

Hi,

I am trying to set up assistance on my watch to send an alert incase it's needed but the watch (vivoactive 4s) is saying the alertt is sent but my emergency contact is not receiving.    I've rebooted the watch and still not working.

Can you please let me know what's wrong and why it's not working.

Thanks,

Joanne

  • I suggest adding yourself as an emergency contact to test whether or not this is working. Make sure you have your phone with you, Garmin Connect app is running, and it is connected via Bluetooth to your watch.

  • Thank you,.  Yes I've tried all that and to no avail.   Still saying alert sent but nothing received See no evil

  • Make sure your emergency contacts are setup correctly - vívoactive 4/4S - Adding Emergency Contacts (garmin.com)

    Sync with Garmin Connect

Verify you have all App permissions allowed - Garmin Connect App >> Settings >> Phone Permissions >> Manage Permissions >> Permissions. On my phone I have everything allowed.

Make sure you're requesting assistance correctly.

    • Hold down the top right button until you feel 3 vibrations
    • You should then see "Release Power Key for Assistance"

    • Release the power key then you should see "Sending Assistance Alert"

    • Let the timer count down, do not cancel.
    • The alert will be sent using your phone's Internet connection
    • On my watch (945 LTE) I see this

    • Your previously defined emergency contacts will receive an email with the subject "Assistance Alert."

    • And a text message...

If none of this works, suggest uninstalling/reinstalling the Garmin Connect App and contacting Garmin Support.
