Venu 2S Challenges

Hi I posted a question about Venu S2, I have now realised that unless I use the GPS to track my steps, the challenges are not calculating my normal steps that I do on a daily basis without using the GPS. I used to have a vivo smart and this automatically added any steps I did towards challenges- Please does anyone know a way round this?

    The steps are counted without the GPS. They are always counted. There is one exception that I know of and that is if you start a biking activity. Then the step counting stops during that activity.

    I’ve just done 3131 steps this morning.  I’ve joined the January Walking stage 1, I did a long walk yesterday which I checked I had 9.2 on the challenge.  I’ve updated the app after my walk this morning and the challenge  is stuck on 9.2.  In December I joined a couple of challenges which didn’t register any steps, however when I went for a walk on 31st I used the GPS and they both started to record my steps.  Frustrating as I had more than enough done enough steps to complete the challenges.  So it seems that my watch is only recording steps on challenges when the GPS is used….

    For the walking challenge you must log a walking activity that logs a distance. It will not use the step count at all.

    The step count is only used for step challenges.

    Read the description for each challenge and badge carefully to see what you need to do.

    There is no January Walking challenge so I guess you mean "2022 Walking - Stage 1". The description says: "Record 91 miles of walking activities". An activity must logged by starting an activity of the correct type. In this case "Walking".

    Thank you I’m sure the Vivofit didn’t work like that.  Thank you for taking the time to reply it’s appreciated.

    It doesn't have anything to do with the watch. You must start a walking activity to log distance for a walking challenge no matter the watch.

    You might have used Move IQ to autostart activities with your Vivofit. If the watch identifies walking or running it will autostart an activity after the time threshold has been reached.

    I suggest that you don't use Move IQ to do that. Start an activity when you want to start an activity instead. Then it will log the full time and distance for your walking or running and not risk missing any parts.
