Bluetooth connection with Samsung

I have a new smartphone since one week (samsung galaxy a32). I connected my Garmin Vivoactive 4s with my Samsung. Now I have to reconnect them 2 times a day. So 2 time a day I have to fill in a now code to reconnect with bluetooth. With my previous phone, this was not the case.

  • Make sure your Garmin is removed from your old phone (from the app and the Bluetooth settings), then follow this procedure:

    • Remove your Garmin device from the Garmin Connect App (Menu >> Garmin devices).
    • "Unpair" all Garmin devices in android Bluetooth settings. Settings >> Bluetooth >> Unpair
    • Do the same for any other nearby mobile devices that might have Garmin in its Bluetooth settings. A common issue for users that have a new phone or other mobile devices also paired to the same Garmin device.
    • Unpair from the app - Settings >> Apps >> Show System Apps >> Bluetooth >> Storage >> Clear Data
    • Reboot your phone, restart your Garmin.
    • On your Garmin device place into "pairing mode." Differs per device, but usually in Settings > Phone > Pair Phone to manually enter pairing mode.
    • Pair using Garmin Connect Mobile app

If your phone is running Android 12, when trying to pair your watch, the Garmin Connect Mobile APP says the device is not found until you grant the permission of "Nearby devices." This permission was newly introduced in Android 12 by Google and the permission must be granted for pairing all Garmin devices to the Android Connect Mobile APP.

If there are still problems after this, see the more extensive list of possibilities here: Sync / Connection Troubleshooting Guide

  • I think it works now. Thanks

  • Hello,
I have this issue with Garmin Foreruner 245 and Samsung A32, unfortunatelly mentioned procedure doesn´t work.
Do you have any update how to fix this issue?
    Thank you
    Vlad

  • I THINK the problem is with the A32 bluetooth module.  I find my A32 doing exactly the same and then if I connect my watch to another phone it is working perfectly

  • As the most discussed topic at the moment is my thread: https://forums.garmin.com/apps-software/mobile-apps-web/f/garmin-connect-mobile-andriod/283174/repeatly-bluetooth-pairing-codes-after-disconnecting-watch

If your sure you are affected by this, please post there. This topic has to be pushed through the whole garmin company!

  • For me the discibed procedure worked for a while. But once I opened the Garmin Connect app again, I had to connect again, every time my phone had been away from my watch.

I recently have a new watch (the screen from the other one was broken), but still Vivoactive S4. I first had the same problem again. After the first sport activity the garmin app asked the bluetooth code again and I had to complete the setting, so I did. And since that moment, It works perfect! So I have no idea why or what I did, but I don't have the problem anymore.
