Freehand option on mobile android

I just got a Instinct watch and have been trying to create a custom course. I've seen that the freehand option is only available on the web garmin connect. Seems halfway pointless seeing as freehand will mostly be used for people who are out hiking and won't have a computer with them. Are there any plans to bring the freehand option to the mobile app? I feel it would be an easy option to add.

    Meanwhile, I've used the Komoot app on my android phone and installed the Komoot Connect IQ app, makes it easy create then send to your device while away from a computer.

    Suggest setting this up and trying it before you're "out there."

    This has been an issue ever since the mobile app has been around.  I actually gave up using the Connect app years ago for this very reason, only to recently search again and see that it's still an ongoing issue which led me here...crazy.  It basically makes the whole create course feature useless when it tries to add-on some crazy reroute because it doesn't know there's a route through two close points.
