Calorie burned from food intake detection issue

Dear Garmin,

I recently switched to a Forerunner 245 from a Fitbit Charge 3. The options Garmin provides to estimate calories burned are more advanced and a big benefit for me. All functions work well except the detection of calories burned from food intake. If I connect MyFitnessPal and process all of my foods, my device automatically allocates calories burned for that foods. When I remove the connectivity however, the counting of calories burned for food digestion stops (which usually is up to 20% of daily intake) and is reflecting calories burned as if I havnt eaten all day. Meaning either I need to keep track of all my food all the time (which is a no go for me) or have a poluted display of calories burned.

My activity level is already set in 10. An day without workouts displays (including 8k steps on average) nearly 2200 kcal burned which is very low for 177 cm, 72 kg athletic body composition. My dietician estimated my ‘rest day’ calorie requirements around 2600-2700.

Perhaps I am missing something in the settings? If not, I see no other option but selling my 245.

Thanks in advance for the reply.
