E-biking

Hi, I've read posts here about a separate activity for riding an e-assisted bike (mine is a trike actually). I would dearly like to do this as I don't believe I am burning the calories indicated when categorising the activity as road cycling. Any thoughts? Perhaps I'm missing something? NB I use vivosmart trackers

  • I'm pretty sure that without a power meter, the watch is using only heart rate to estimate calories when riding a bike. So if your hr is accurate, it shouldn't matter of it's an e-bike or not. BUT wrist HR is known to be often inaccurate while riding, so that might explain your calorie counts. But that problem would remain with an e-bike activity also. So my suggestion is to use a hrm strap.
