Garmin Connect is currently experiencing an outage. - for many months in summer 2021

Last at least 4 months I am having problem uploading gtx files and seeing synchronized actions. When I click on action or calendar or try to open gtx file in Connect app the "running guy icon" stays on screen many minutes or forever. Sometimes helps to reinstall the app.

I looked and the Connect synch troubleshooting and the advices did not help.

Any ideas?

Thank you.

  • Assume you mean GPX file and you're using an android phone with Garmin Connect Mobile app? Uploading a GPX file this way is not a normal feature using the app. You would normally use Garmin Connect Web for this. Or are you just trying to sync your activities? So could you explain with some screenshots?

  • Hi Seilogramp, thank you for you r answer.

As to the GPX loading functionality, the Garmin Connect is obviously created the way it can load GPX as it is being offered as an app which can be used to open a GPX file when I click on it in my Android phone.

As to the Screenshots, here they are:

    Freshly opened Garmin Connect:

    GPS Load:

The icon od the running guy will be there forever.

    Opening of yesterday recorded excercise:

after few mins it will end up with blank(black) screen

when I click on the calendar:

this will go on "forever" (over 20 mins easy).

Everything in the Garmin Connect seems to stop working week by week, previously everything worked fine (more than 6 months ago), then it would not load some parts (a recorded workout, gpx file) occasionally. Then it would not load ever but reinstalling helped, and now not even reinstall helps. And obviously I see constantly that Garmin Connect is experiencing an outage. Approximately 6 months outage... However the Garmin Connect web seems to work fine.

I am having OnePlus 5T with Android 10

    Thank you & Regards,

    Palo

I understand and thank you for the clarification, but this is not a documented feature of Garmin Connect Mobile. However, this will not stop us from trying to make it work for you.Slight smile. I just tried this with an exported activity as a GPX file. Garmin Connect wanted to import it as a course and it completed without an issue.

What is the source of your GPX file? Can you attach one of your problematic GPX files to your post so I can try to replicate your issue?

  • Can we focus on more basic functionality first. Such as viewing the workout, or seeing calendar. Then I believe the "gpx issue" will be fixed too.

  • The subject of this thread is a bit misleading, like clickbait. Got my attention, so guess it worked. Most of us are not experiencing an outage for many months.Happens occasionally, but not consistently for months. Maybe an issue isolated to your location, your phone, your Garmin Connect installation, the source of the GPX file, or your workflow. If you want us to help, then suggest posting your GPX file as requested. Alternatively, you can try uninstalling then reinstalling the app, and/or contacting Garmin Support directly via phone or chat - https://support.garmin.com

  • I see I should start a separate thread and should not have mentioneded the gpx cause everyone is focusing on it while basic functions won't work. As to the Subject it is one common thing related to all the issues I have. Main issue is once I save the workload I won't be able to see it because "Garmin connect has outage", when I try to see the calendar or any workout (if calendar ever loads) then it won't load cause "Garmin connect is experiencing an outage". Again as I said reinstall used to help with loading the first gpx file, but only for the first file and it is not helping anymore  so I do appreciate that you want me to post gpx file, but I must say I would prefer to make Garmin connect to handle basic tasks, such as seeing my workout, first and then we can look at the gpx files.

  • Is everything working in Garmin Connect Web? https://connect.garmin.com/modern/

  • Yes, the Garmin Connect web is working ok.
