What do numbers on my garmin connect icon mean and how to get rid of them?

This indicates that you have unread notifications within the Garmin Connect app. You can open the app, go to your notifications (bottom/right tab) and open each notification.

Alternatively, you can turn off this feature: Long press the Connect icon on your phone > Press app info > Notifications > toggle off "App icon badges"

Nope. Don't have any notifications.  Long pressing just seems to select the icon. I can't find a way to turn the numbers off they go up and down for no obvious reason.

Same, I keep getting notifications, but when I check the app, I do not have any notifications to acknowledge and have them disabled.

You have app icon badges disabled or something else? Post a screenshot if you can.

I am not sure how to get to the screen above. I do not see an App Info option in connect on my Android device. 

See my first post. Did you long press (not just tap) the Connect icon? All of the icons on my phone (Android version 10) have a menu that comes up when long pressing for about 1 second.

If you're still unable to get there, you can go to Settings >> Apps >> Connect >> Notifications >> toggle off App icon badges.
