Activity maps are no longer showing since July 2021 on Fenix 3HR and Vivoactive 3

Maps to all activities are no longer appearing in Garmin Connect, and are subsequently also not uploading to Strava. I know for a fact that I did NOT change any settings on either of the watches or Garmin Connect, all activities have GPS ON. This seems to be a Connect issue. The last activities that had maps were in July 2021. 

I wash hoping it was just temporary, but now it's going on for more than a month, so I'm wondering if this has happened to anybody else, and also whether Garmin Forums would be able to comment on the issue.

(I'm currently in the market for a new watch and was hoping to upgrade to another Garmin, but now I'm not so sure anymore. Any thoughts would be appreciated.)

    Is it just the maps and the activity is otherwise being uploaded? And just to be clear, are you referring to the maps of your activities on Garmin Connect Web? This is the android forum, but there have been issues reported regarding this on other threads.

    And is it all activities? Suggest clearing cache on the web browser you're using, as it has been reported this fixes this.

    1. The activities are complete otherwise, just without the map.
    2. No, referring to the activity as a whole as it is presented on multiple platforms including Garmin Connect Android app, iPad in Garmin Connect app, and any of multiple internet browsers.
    3. No maps showing on Connect.Garmin.com/modern/activities since 30 July this year, yet all activities prior to that are showing the map.
    4. Not all activities, only activities since 30 July this year - all activities up to 30 July are still showing the map.

    Note: My wife and I run together (me with the fenix) and our activities are both uploaded through two different Android phones' Connect apps with different accounts, and then pushed through to two separate Strava accounts from there. This started at exactly the same time on both environments, which makes me think it's a little wider than just a browser or device issue. ...and I know for a fact that neither of us changed any settings from 30 July to 28 August, except taking a break from running for about a month. When we started again on 28 August, we both experienced the same missing maps for all activities.

  • After a month of frustration and nearly losing it at times, I did a full power down on my Fenix 3HR this morning, and suddenly the maps are back.
