Connect app and settings (diid a child produce this app?)

Right Folks 

Seriously did a child write and produce this garmin connect app??

Was out on the way to a callout need to change a setting in the app and wanted to change the colours of watchface to ones I prefer at night on callouts and adjust a few settings in an app and widget.. Trouble was I was in an area with NO data access.  And low and behold I can't change a damn thing on the watch using the app.. NOT ONE DAMN THING because for some STUPID reason the app needs to communicate online with garmin to change settings on the watch. WHO *** THOUGHT THAT WAS A GOOD IDEA!!??? Why the  *** do you need the internet to change settings??? PLEASE SOME ONE EXPLAIN??? GARMIN basically KILLS the advance functions of our devices if we don't have data access..  

This stupid pathetic reliance on having and internet connect is a huge watch killer and makes having all these watchfaces, widgets/apps/data fields  pointless and useless when away wildcamping etc if you you don't have data and need to change the settings .. We connect to the watches Via Bluetooth so why do we need the internet to change settings?? The apps are install on the watch and accessed in the app so they should be accessible at all times.... I have use Suunto watches for 25 years and when they introduced a watch app you could still change settings without internet connection and was still the case three weeks ago when I moved to my Fenix 5x... Suunto accepted that you would not always have internet access on your phone but may want or NEED to change things, Yet Garmin doesn't.   This is fecking STUPID OF GARMIN...

Sorry for the Rant  but come on  this is seriously a stupid thing Garmin has done. WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THEIR WATCHES and now seriously looking to dump This watch for something else.

    This is a known limitation of the app so the developer of that watchface hasn't implemented customization on the watch.

    Sorry thats RUBBISH,. disable wifi and data and then try accessing Appearance then do the same for activities apps and more,,, You will find you can't even open the menus until you re-enable wifi/data... Its not a limitation of those that put hard work into developing widgets/apps etc... You can't even access sounds and alerts,user settings or general settings all require data access first. Why should we require DATA access to change settings???.. It is GARMINS stupidity not the devs that make apps etc...

    I mean that you shouldn't use the app at all. Many watchfaces can be configured right on the watch.

    Most of the settings you are asking for can be done right on the watch.

    Alot of widget  and app settings and ALL watchface (other than pre installed) settings are done in the connect app... And whilst I agree we shouldn't need to use the app as much, the point is that the app has these features and function and SHOULD be accessible with out a data connection...  Other wise what is the point in having them there at all... I work in areas where there is little to no data access as do all my colleagues and countless others do to so the fact this has been missed or ignored by Garmin is quite frankly pathetic... I accept for data sync etc it is required but I DON'T accept it for the basics like settings...
