Corrupt FIT File

Hi,

I recorded an activity this morning that won't upload to Garmin Connect nor to Strava. This is the first time this has happened and I recorded an activity yesterday with no issues.

I can view the full activity on my watch, and Garmin Connect appears to register the ~10k I ran in the step count, but no activity is registered.

Having put the file through the Sections Remover on FIT File Tools, the map shows the first ~2 miles of the run, after which I appear to leave this planet for distant lands.

Is this file salvageable or had I best put my trainers back on?

Any help appreciated.

A chronic issue with the lower end Forerunner models 25/30/35.

Some suggestions to help minimize the occurrence of corrupt fit files…

Some suggestions to help minimize the occurrence of corrupt fit files:

After verifying that everything has synced, remove the files in the \GARMIN\ACTIVITY folder on the device’s file system using these directions: Removing Recorded Activities on a Garmin Fitness Device
Avoid excessive button presses such as pausing during your activity. If you need to pause frequently during your run, consider turning on auto pause
Regularly check for firmware updates using Garmin Express
If issues with corrupt files persist, contact Garmin Support
