Walk/run?

Do you log the activity as a run even if the majority of the time you are walking? Is there any advantage either way?

I have always logged my workout as a walk. But i do run for short portions. Is there any benefit to logging it as a run. Will it be better to loud it as a run for my VO2 max calculations?

  • If you choose run instead of walk, you get some extra statistics. One statistic that comes to mind is that Run includes cadence while Walk doesn't. There are probably other stats as well.

What I do is record my walks as runs and also change the standard title of the activity to say Walk.

The downside is that if you walk some days but run other days, the totals will be combined. If you always walk/run all the time like you describe, I think Run is a better option in general.

  • Thank you! I will enter it as a run from now on. I like the idea of more data!
