Garmin Connect for Android

Question

I have just bought a new Moto E7i Power and tried to download the Garmin Connect app from Playstore and it tells me that this version is not compatible with my new phone, any reason why?

You can try downloading the app using an APK site. Seems someone on this thread had success - Downloading the Garmin connect app??? 
 Also, you can still use your watch and upload to Garmin Connect Web using a Windows or Mac computer with a USB cable and Garmin Express . 
 As for a different brand of watch. I'm no expert in other brands. I would think that something like a Wear OS watch might work, but even it is not supported on go edition - https://wearos.google.com/wearcheck/ . I'll keep looking as time allows. 
 I checked with fitbit. Their support site and specs are very vague with no reference to android go edition, that I could find. I opened a case with fitbit support over a chat session. Their level 1 support had no answer and stated they will email me later after raising with a "higher team."
