edit swim distance Garmin

How do I edit the swim distance for a pool swim? The watch recorded an extra lap in a 50m pool. Thank you!

  • I would try swimmingwatchtools.com. If you are unable to do it there, you can zip then attach the fit file associated with this activity to your post. We can attempt to do it for you.

    • Zip the file, then in a reply post Insert >> Image/video/file >> click Upload >> browse for file >> OK.
    • Or upload the fit file to a file sharing service, such as OneDriveGoogle DriveDropbox, etc., then share a link to the file in your post.
  • I have this issue 3 times a week. I wouldn't like to use an extra app if I pay for an expensive watch like these garmin watches. I really like these watches, the quality is top notch, but I really miss lap edit feature from the Connect app.

    Example:

We should have an option on this page (eg. long press, then a an editor with number only input appear, where I can change the 350 to 400).

I can accept that sometimes it does not recognize the lap correctly, but this issue makes lot of features in the connect useless. Achievements, stats like:fastest pace, fastest swimming etc.

I can't store any personal best records, because 90% times are false positive.

As a software developer I don't see why such a small feature is not handled with high priority. Probably 1 day for a trainee developer to implement and has a good ux and business value.

Instead we should export, zip, send it, then the back. Do you really expect us to send you 3 times a week? This would cost you more then implement this small quality of life feature.

Instead of sending, people like I acknowledge that it is not correct and and does not care about the rest of the Connect features as well. I would love to use them, but it does not worth the effort with the zipping.

P.s.: I know that I can edit the lap count, but that does not fix the issues I mentioned above.

Just that you know, you are on the User Forum here, and the help that was offered to you, is from a kind volunteer user spending his free time in helping others in troubles.

Your points are valid, but not very likely to be heard by Garmin here. Rather contact the Support, or Submit Your Idea to Garmin

  • Thank you for the reply. I know that lot of people here are volunteer helper, but I hope in an official garmin forum there are community managers who sees/track topics to improve their services.

P.s.: I submitted an idea to garmin, than you for the link.
