You can go into settings on the watch and select the units you want for each of temperature and distance. However, in order to have that info in Connect, you should make sure that web Connect is also set up that way both in User and device settings. If you don't it will convert to whatever the default is.
My situation is a bit like this. Here in Canada, I use Celsius, Miles for running, and KMs for Cycling. I have it set up that way with a VA3 for running and KMs for an Edge Bike computer. Since my default settings use miles, my KMs from the Edge get converted to Miles when it gets to Connect.
