I did a hike yesterday which I recorded on Strava, but it hasn't copied over to Garmin. (I use a garmin Forerunner 45) They are connected- my runs on Strava show up on Garmin no problem. Does anybody have any idea why?

Strava do not sync to Garmin. It is only one way. From Garmin to Strava.

If you want to keep Strava and Garmin activities in sync, try Tapiriik: https://tapiriik.com/

Does it really sync anything to Garmin? There has been some issues with sync to Garmin due to API changes. There is also an open issue for Tapiriik since 2019, but it doesn't look like he is using that function since there are so many open issues: https://github.com/cpfair/tapiriik/issues/526

I use Tapiriik to all other services, but not to Garmin so I haven't tested that in a long time.
