I have brought forerunner 45 and think it's discrimination that I can't participate in the hiking challenge

Hi I'm disappointed I have forerunner 45 and I cannot get the connection for hiking. I do not understand why a challenge as been set for hiking and those with us who have this model can't do the challenge

You can. Just register your walking activity as a "Walk" or "Other", and then change its type in garmin connect to "Hike".

It does not work like that - does not then go off the challenge for hiking - there is no option for hiking on this model.
