If you used your computer, then you probably used Garmin Express. Nothing wrong with that, but you'll be missing out on some functionality by not also using Garmin Connect Mobile. If you are repeatedly getting a code, this is the Bluetooth passcode to enter into the Garmin Connect Mobile app. If you look at the app during this, you might see that it is asking you to enter the code. You should only get it once. After it's added to your phone via Bluetooth, it should look like this with a circle around an image of your Garmin device and a green dot if Bluetooth is current active and the phone and watch are within range of each other.
If you go into the menu then Garmin Devices, you should also see it there.
