Fenix 1 does not sync after replacing battery

I replaced the entire back plate of my Fenix '1' with a new one with a fresh battery, and now it does not sync anymore. The device sync log is empty. The Fenix works with the phone though; notifications are displayed OK. Tried reinstalling the app, pairing again, forgetting device on phone in Bluetooth settings, restarting phone & Fenix, but the sync log stays empty. App has all rights/authorizations. I'm out of ideas, hope someone can help!
