delete lap function?

I see this has been a constant topic.

I have read all of the questions I could find, most seem to be <5 years old.

My issue, perhaps others:

I am not used to using this watch yet. Fairly often, I press the LAP button at the end of my jog instead of the correct one. This leaves me with a 'tail' of a few seconds and a lap that while minor, with a worldwide system such as this; there should be a simple way to carve that off the end.

I tried 'trim activity', but it does not seem to remove that lap.

Also, my wrist has bumped the LAP button placing an extra lap in the middle once or twice.

I am sincerely trying to use the system, but these mishaps adds things that I don't want to see.

Does a 'remove lap' with 'subtract lap time' secondary radio button exist? Could it not be simply coded in?

thanks for listening

  • You can turn off the lap button so it doesn't mark a lap. I've got the lap button turned off and use the auto lap function for marking laps.

By turning the lap button off the lap button will become the back button again and you can easily press back to go to watch face and access your widgets. To go back to the activity just press start/stop button when viewing the watch face.

  • Auto lap just bases it on GPS-derived distance, right? Where this is, has a lot of canopy coverage, so it doesn't do a great job of recording distance, and I want to see how my times and heartrate change with each lap (looking like the 2nd lap is the best lap for some reason). Thanks though

  • On my Fenix 5+, I've disabled the lap button, but set a hotkey so that long press of the lap button activates the lap function. That way it's the same key, you just have to press it longer to mark a lap.
