The Garmin Connect app isn't saving my daily steps??? How do I fix??

I've had the watch for 4 days.  It syncs up with my phone and the Garmin Connect app easily enough.  The problem I have is none of my daily data is being saved.  When I open the app and look at the last few days it shows no saved data available.  

I'm really hoping there's a way to save these metrics?

Would someone be so kind as to share any suggestions on how to fix?
