I bought a HRM-Pro to intend using the running dynamics metric to improve my practice. Subsequently I bought an edge130 to real-time reporting heart rate and speed. However, running dynamics metric is only compatible with certain smartwatches, and edge is not in the list. Is it possible to buy the metric as a app in the IQ store, and then also add running feature to report pace as well in my edge130 that is the statistics already collected by HRM-Pro?
I understand edge series is intended to serve riding purpose. But I think some garmin users also have similar situation to use smartwatches from other brand, and it's really awkward to use two watches in running. Edge can be put in the waist pocket or belt and easily take out to observe the real time statistics. Hopefully the garmin developer see this post and provide alternatives for the usage of edge, with reference that I own the HRM-Pro already and that is a device to collect running dynamics statistics. I am willing to pay an app, let say around 60 US dollars for adding running features and running dynamics metrics in Edge, and for the cost of purchasing the usage of running dynamics, I spent already $150 US dollars for two devices mentioned above but still failed to get it due to my misunderstanding to the descriptions.
Surely it is more than a mistake, it can be an opportunity to try some other possibility of device usage if garmin developers agree with this. Thanks for your reading, and I also see some post in the forum asking similar question about using Edge in running. I think it is not a isolated case.
