Move iq activation malfunctioning

Good morning everybody!

I tried to look for my specific problem around the forums but find nothing really similar, i do apologize in advance if this has been treated already and i missed it.

I have a fr245.

My issue is inability to activate move iq, which was up and running up to some days ago but then stopped working.

I can activate it from watch settings and "looks" active (the indicator is green), but detects nothing.

Going through the app trying to solve i noticed that if i get into the device activity detection settings screen, then exit this screen (even leaving the move iq tick on green) then on watch is turned off Flushed

I can turn it back on directly on watch (but takes couple of tries... Does not become green at first attempt) but still does not work.

It feels like it is forced off in the app somewhere, not in the specific settings screen since there I can toggle it but regardless of how it shows in app itself (on or off) it keeps syncing the off mode to the watch.

I can't understand what's wrong, already tried to restart watch and reinstall connect but nothing... I wonder if there is maybe some known possible sw conflict, i do have couple of apps/widgets installed on watch but I don't remember changing anything specific lately (i did add couple of personalized workouts, but i don't think should have anything to do with it....)

Sorry for the long message, I tried to explain in detail since I understand it is a really strange issue... Like the app or watch have a mind of their own Rofl

  • I'll partially answer myself... Now working after having activated it from the web connect app, so it looks that the phone app has an issue and won't turn this on though it's showing it is on...

    I drop this here in case useful to anybody, and in case garmin takes a look here for a bug fix

  • Hi Franky - I am having the same problem. It was automatically picking up my workouts stepper and walking, and now it's not.

    Mine is activated on the web connect app as far as I know, but maybe not. Tell me, how did you do that?

    Mine connects through both my ipad and iphone. But on the days it was working, watch itself showed there had been an activity, and now it doesn't.

    Any help would be appreciated

    It's not like I need to have it record this on my dashboard. I know I did it. It's just kinda nice to see and the MPH and distance would be nice to know.

    You got me a good laugh re-reading my thread Slight smile try to deactivate on the website, then sync the watch to the phone app, then reactivate on the web, sync again with the watch, and never touch it again from watch or from mobile app... That worked for me.

  • Hi - I'm shocked you answered. I only saw how old the post was after I asked. I will try that, and hope it works. Before, it was on and off - sometimes would pick them up, sometimes not. But now that I've moved to a longer workout, it's not picking them up at all. Glad yours is still working. - Dana
