I have a Garmin 6s and steps are not being recorded on Garmin Connect. Why is this not happening?
Will that update the data that was collected prior to today as well? It has only updated the data from today.
If you had two accounts associated with your watch, and one part of the data landed in the wrong account, then no - the past data will stay in each respective account exactly as it is now. You only fix the ambiguity for future syncing. For transfering the missing data from the wrong account to the right one, see the third post in the thread of the troubleshooting guide.
