Steps

The Garmin app is not updating with the number of steps recorded on my watch. It is about 1,000 short. This has happened twice before, despite my syncing the watch and App. Most days it registers the steps correctly. Why is this happening?

  • When it happens check the Device Sync Audit (in GC Mbile Menu » Settings) for errors. One possible reason is an overfilled storage. Make sure to regularly clean up the folder //GARMIN/Activity/

  • Thanks for your reply, I can’t seem to find a Device Sync Audit option in settings on either the mobile or online-could you advise where I might find it?

    As I wrote - go to the menu of the Garmin Connect Mobile Android app, scroll down, select Settings, scroll down again, and there is the option Device Sync Audit, at the very bottom of the Settings menu. Not available on iOS, as far as I know, but since you are posting to the Android forum, I suppose it is not your case.

  • Ah! That might be why I can’t find it. I didn’t realise I was posting to an Android forum, I am using the mobile app on an iPhone and there doesn’t seem to be a Device Sync Audit option in settings. Apologies. Thanks for your help.
