My garmin vivosmart hr + stopped working & was full of water when taken apart

I have been searching swimming for the past 10 months & my garmin started freezing at times then switched on & off itself  before stopping all together.  When taken apart it was full of water including inside the sealed battery cover

  • I am afraid the user forum won't help you much with water in the device. Unless you manage to get it working again after drying (which is not very probable), it looks like you need a new device, since by opening it you lost the chance to apply the warranty (if the device was still under one). You can still try contacting the customer support anyway, and ask if they'd have a special offer for you.

    • Thanks for your reply, it was a few years old so well our of warranty.  I've treated myself to a vivoactive 4s instead.

Hope it will serve you well. Thought it has the same water rating (5 ATM), so I hope it will survive at least as long as the Vivosmart. In case you'd like a bit more rugged device, the Instinct is in the same price range, or even cheaper (catalogue price 299€, but you can have it also for 150€ new), and it is rated to 10 ATM. It is just missing some of the feaures of the VA 4S though (VO₂, CIQ,...),
