What to do after factory reset?

I had to factory reset my Garmin watch today. Activities, badges, goals, etc. are still saved in Garmin Connect so as far as I can see. Can I pair my watch with the app now? Or will that erase all the data? What should I do? Thank you!

I switched bluetooth on and the data is still there when I open the app. But it says "Not connected" when I go to Device even though I paired it. Thank you!

How did you pair it? From Garmin Connect, or from the phone's Bluetooth menu? Only the first option is correct.

Do I need to "remove" the watch from Garmin Connect first? The watch shows up as paired device in the app and on my laptop. I have the watch connected to my laptop now via the charging cable and the Garmin connect app open. Sorry, it's the first time I needed to reset it!

You did not answer the question whether you paired it through GC, or through the phone's BT screen. If you paired it through GC and the paring is functional, then there is no need for removing and re-pairing the watch. You only need to pair the watch if it was not paired (or not paired from the side of Garmin Connect).

Otherwise for diverse problems of Bluetooth diconnections - there may be countless of other reasons for that (others than dysfunctional pairing) - check out the Sync / Connection Troubleshooting Guide for some tips.

Actually, I had tried both and neither worked. But I removed the watch now and then paired it again (as if it were a completely new device) and it worked. All data is still in the app and it's synchronizing, it seems. Thanks!
