Can't Access Watch Faces

Hello,

In the Appearance section of Connect, I can access Widgets and Control Menu, but not Watch Faces. I constantly receive the message "Unable to contact the Connect IQ Store." This happens multiple times a day. Once in a while, I get through, most times I get the error. It's frustrating when all I want to do is change the color of the second hand on my watch face and it takes two days to do it because of these errors.

This has been a problem since I bought my Venu late last year. This is a terrible customer experience.

Anyone have suggestions to fix this? It's only in the watch face section.

  • No, I haven't used Express. Thanks, but I'm not really interested in tethering my watch to a computer to change its settings.

    I did try clearing cache in the Connect app and on my watch. Also tried different phones, WiFi, mobile data, and a VPN connection. It's so unreliable. Lately I get in about one in four tries, when it works. Otherwise, I usually have to wait a day. It shouldn't be that hard.

  • Sounds as if your IP address was blocked by CloudFlare when trying to access the store. When it happens, try switching to an alternative Internet connection (mobile data instead of WiFi, or vice versa, another WiFi router, or a VPN)

  • Thanks. As I mentioned in my post above, I tried those things. If my IP address were blocked I'd expect it to never work. 

  • Yes, sorry, did not read the previous post. CloudFlare typically blocks IP addresses for 24 hours, unless they detect serious abuse. But if you tell you tried different ISPs with the same result, then it's likely not the problem.

    Call the Garmin Support and let them investigate it.
