I can't get the auto steps 5000 to change to 12000 the steps are not syncing or recording on the garmin app.. blue tooth is on and connected.

A sync should fix that.

Not sure I understand. Either you use the Auto Goal for the steps, and in that case it is indeed automatic, and you cannot change it, you you turn off the Auto-Goal and set a fixed goal instead. Then it is no more an auto-goal, but you can adjust it as you want.

I don't have auto goal on this was set at 5000 so manually changed to 12500, it still says 5000 on watch and garmin app.
